Rocket Science and National Lottery Community Fund (Yorks and Humber Region): Tools to enhance place-based funder collaboration
17 May | 13:00-14:00
This session takes the form of a panel discussion with the project’s commissioners and the research team and a short presentation of the interactive regional mapping dashboard.
Rocket Science is working with the National Lottery Community Fund and the Yorkshire Funders’ Forum to develop an interactive tool which helps increase and apply knowledge of the ‘funding ecology’ within the Yorkshire and Humber region. Updating funding data initially mapped in 2018, this approach and the resulting interactive dashboard have potential application in other regions and localities:
Providing insights to national funders and local place-based grant-makers about how and where their funding is distributed within the region.
Developing evidence to use when approaching regional and local authorities, as well as private-sector funders to coinvest in supporting civil society.
Raising awareness amongst larger national funders of the make-up of funding in the region, identifying duplication and obvious gaps (ie “cold spots”).
Enabling the work of funder collaboratives whether at a regional or local (place-based) level.
This session takes the form of a panel discussion with the project’s commissioners and the research team; a short presentation of the interactive regional mapping dashboard, followed by a Q&A.
