Addressing climate change as a non-environmental funder

In this session, Cloudesley will share what we’ve learnt from running a climate-change funding programme as a non-environmental funder.

As a funder that was keen to address climate change but have narrowly defined charitable objects, we needed to find a way of aligning climate change with our core work. With one of our key programmes focused on the upkeep and repair of church buildings, we designed a project to improve the sustainability and reduce the carbon footprint of these buildings. We will share lessons on how to align climate change work with core funding aims, the practicalities of running a funding programme that involves retrofitting buildings to reduce carbon emissions and the value of providing technical consultancy alongside grant funding.

The Festival is open to all members of London Funders. Unless otherwise specified, we are not able to accept bookings from non-members. If you’re a funder and interested in becoming a London Funders member, please find out more here.
