What does it take to make Black Londoners feel safe?

Impact on Urban Health and The Ubele Initiative worked with a group of 15 local community leaders to answer the question, 'What would it take to enable Black and minoritised communities in Lambeth and Southwark to feel safe?’

Given the time and space to think deeply about safety, these local leaders have developed a set of prototypes to test systemic approaches to helping their communities to enjoy greater safety.

Through this event, we will share more about how the leaders developed ideas around safety that went beyond the narrow lens of crime, policing and the justice system. We'll also dive into the prototypes local leaders are testing, and share some of the tricky lessons we've learned about participatory grant making and devolving power to communities along the way.

The Festival is open to all members of London Funders. Unless otherwise specified, we are not able to accept bookings from non-members. If you’re a funder and interested in becoming a London Funders member, please find out more here.
