Join us for a lively online panel discussion exploring how trustees can have real impact in grant making charities. We'll look at what helpful trustee behaviour looks like – and what it doesn’t. From understanding your role, to navigating tricky issues like power and risk, we’ll explore what knowledge and behaviours actually help trustees make a difference.
We’ll cover:
What do we mean by “impact” – and how can you tell if you’re having one?
What do trustees need to know to be effective?
How should trustees behave to be effective?
Are there things that are especially important for trustees of grant-makers?
How can trustees support ambitions around shared power, better risk-taking, and more equitable and flexible funding?
And what helps trustees to actually do all this well?
Expect honest reflections, practical insight and plenty of opportunity to ask questions or share your own experiences.
The panel will bring together a diverse mix of trustees and CEOs from London Funders member organisations – and will be chaired by Penny Wilson, governance consultant and member of the London Funders Talent Bank.
The Festival is open to all members of London Funders, including trustees and decisionmakers. Unless otherwise specified, we are not able to accept bookings from non-members. If you’re a funder and interested in becoming a London Funders member, please find out more here.
