How can funders – both private and public – help build wealth in the communities and places they support?
This session explored the opportunities for community wealth building to develop a fairer and more democratic local economy for London. Facilitated by Matthew Brown - Senior Fellow for the Democracy Collaborative and Leader of Preston Council, who have pioneered community wealth building approaches - the session highlighted practical ways funders can adopt community wealth methods, including through public procurement and 'anchor networks'.
