The future is collaborative: lessons from Edinburgh’s first pooled fund

This session explores the journey of the Regenerative Futures Fund - a place-based collaboration in Edinburgh that has raised nearly £6 million through a cross-sectoral pooled fund. Facilitated by Louise Mousseau, the conversation traces key milestones in the fund’s development, including the creation of a lived experience decision-making panel and early capacity-building work with community organisations.

Designed as a 10-year programme, the Regenerative Futures Fund is testing how long-term, locally rooted collaboration can drive transformational change. The session offers insights into the opportunities and challenges of pooled funding, strategies for shifting decision-making power to residents, and the complexities of building trust and capacity in communities.
