What should funders do about AI?

In this session, CAST will share ten AI trends for grant makers – drawing on our experience and learnings from convening the AI for grant makers peer group – a network of over 100 grant makers exploring AI.

The rapid growth of AI is bringing important questions to the fore for grantmakers – should we allow AI-assisted applications? And how do we judge them fairly? How is AI impacting grantees’ fundraising efforts and the quality of their applications? How can funders use AI tools to support small organisations? And what does it all mean for our mission - what is worthwhile, when it comes to exploring AI?

In this session, CAST will share ten AI trends for grant makers – drawing on our experience and learnings from convening the AI for grant makers peer group – a network of over 100 grant makers exploring AI. We’ll invite participants to reflect on the impact of these trends for their organisational missions and provide tools and resources to support this thinking and how you can involved in sector-wide AI initiatives. We’ll also introduce what we heard from funders exploring this topic at an event convened by CAST and The National Lottery Community Fund earlier this year, where 140 people from UK Trusts and Foundations gathered to help align funders’ efforts to support the sector with AI.

The Festival is open to all members of London Funders. Unless otherwise specified, we are not able to accept bookings from non-members. If you’re a funder and interested in becoming a London Funders member, please find out more here.
