The Social Innovation Partnership (TSIP) & Renaisi’s session will focus on sharing learnings around how to fund sustainable place-based systems change in the current socio-economic context, reflecting on the power that different stakeholders within a place have, and their subsequent role in sustaining change - from resource flows, narratives, mindset and behaviour change, collaboration and relationships, and community leadership.
From last year’s Festival of Learning, we heard that “our failure to understand [power] is tripping us up”. We want to explore what is within individual funders’ power to do differently now, in the current context of organisations’ and systems’ decreasing absorptive capacity to sustain change. Our deep work in over 50 place-based sites in the past 3 years has fostered learnings around building relationships and capabilities across place, holding risk, shared ownership and accountability, and effective co-creation.
Within this session, these learnings will enable us to collectively map out how to act in solidarity with communities around sustaining place-based change. A practical, interactive space, we will also facilitate shared learning and discussion around what funders can do differently, including potential barriers to doing so and opportunities to address them.
