Funding wellbeing: what do organisations need and how can we support them?

How can we support the wellbeing of the organisations and people we fund? In this session, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and LEF will share what we’re learning from supporting grantees with their wellbeing and discuss opportunities for funders to collaborate to maximise our efforts.

In response to hearing from grantees that wellbeing is a key challenge, we both separately provided £5,000 grant uplifts to a group of our respective grant partners. We had the same intention to support organisational wellbeing, while learning from how organisations spend the money. This learning will inform the approach we take in future.

We know that other funders are thinking about this as an issue, particularly in response to supporting organisations and individuals impacted by racist and far-right violence. However, it can be difficult to know where to start as organisations’ needs are so varied.

While we don’t have all the answers, we hope that the insights from our work can generate a conversation about funders’ role in supporting wellbeing and opportunities and ideas about how we can collaborate.

The Festival is open to all members of London Funders. Unless otherwise specified, we are not able to accept bookings from non-members. If you’re a funder and interested in becoming a London Funders member, please find out more here.
