Future-proofing the sector: building resilient organisations through smarter funding

In this session, the School of Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) will explore how funders can utilise their existing resources to build the resilience and sustainability of VCSEs (with a focus on the role of earned income).

VCSEs across London are under pressure – experiencing higher, more complex demand from service users. At the same time, they are seeing reduced funding and higher competition for the funding which is available. More and more organisations are worried about their survival, and we are starting to see impactful organisations close at a time when we most need the sector.

Funders, in turn, are struggling to meet this increased demand with their own limited resources.

In this climate, the School of Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) will be hosting a session exploring how funders can utilise their existing resources to build the resilience and sustainability of VCSEs (with a focus on the role of earned income).

The session, which will include reflections from City Bridge Foundation and Dulverton Trust, will explore what works when supporting organisations to build increased resilience and sustainability. The session would touch on the support funders can offer grantees to generate earned income and diversify their funding models; funding mechanisms to encourage resilience and sustainability; and the role of Funding Plus support.

Join us for an interactive session where attendees will gain insights from SSE and partners and share your own learnings and reflections on how we can best support organisations at this time.

The Festival is open to all members of London Funders. Unless otherwise specified, we are not able to accept bookings from non-members. If you’re a funder and interested in becoming a London Funders member, please find out more here.
